Research Insights

Through extensive research, we identified key strategies to elevate D’Esterre’s marketing efforts:
Target Audience: Messaging was tailored to seniors and their families, emphasizing the center’s welcoming community, supportive care, and diverse programs.
Digital Presence: The importance of a user-friendly website and active social media engagement was highlighted to build credibility and foster connection.
Community Engagement: Hosting open houses, themed events, and partnerships with local businesses and schools can create valuable intergenerational programs and boost visibility.
Traditional Marketing: Methods like radio ads, newspaper features, and word-of-mouth remain effective when integrated with digital strategies.
Visual Storytelling: Eye-catching designs in pamphlets, social media posts, and certificates showcase the center’s essence and create lasting impressions.

My Role

Market and Competitive Analysis: Researched trends, competitors, and audience demographics to guide our strategy.
Certificate Design: Created certificates to recognize and motivate volunteers, aligning with the center’s branding.
Pamphlet Design: Developed an informative and visually cohesive pamphlet using professional fonts and brand colours.
Instagram Content: Designed carousel posts to promote volunteering and regular posts/templates to maintain a consistent online presence.
Visual Assets: Contributed to creating a cohesive brand identity with abstract icons and reusable templates for digital and print use.

Conclusion

This project was a deep dive into combining empathy and strategy to address real-world challenges faced by non-profits. By aligning our solutions with D’Esterre’s values, we provided tools that will strengthen its reputation, attract new members, and enhance its community role. The process underscored the importance of research-driven design in crafting impactful, practical solutions.

This project involved creating a branding and marketing strategy for D’Esterre Comox Seniors’ Centre, a non-profit organization that has been a cornerstone for the senior community in Comox, British Columbia, for nearly 50 years. The center provides enriching activities, a vibrant community, and a supportive environment for seniors. Our aim was to enhance the center’s outreach and engagement through modernized marketing techniques and cohesive design solutions.
